In Brief: A unique hotel experience, the Hotel Triton and its 140 guest rooms can be described as whimsical, happening, funky, and artful. Opened in 1991, the hotel is still relatively new and strives to offer visitors a new and one-of-a-kind stay. One of the city’s most distinctive hotels, the Hotel Triton has gained this reputation due to its design, furnishings, art displays (such as the rotating art on the mezzanine level), and interesting activities, such as the tarot-card readings paired with the evening’s wine reception. Its location puts guests within walking distance of Chinatown and Union Square, with a choice of culture, shopping, fine cuisine, and a bundle of souvenirs. Amenities include free Internet access, plus in-room spa services, eco-friendly bath products, and complimentary yoga accessories. At the Hotel Triton, the designers were definitely thinking outside of the box. It also features an onsite restaurant, valet/laundry service, a business center, exercise facilities, and airport shuttle. The hotel is making efforts to be green.
