Best Time of Year to Visit San Francisco

By Allison Serrell, About.com

When’s the best time of the year to visit San Francisco? Well, San Franciso’s temperate climate yields mild weather year-round. Temperatures rarely top 70 degrees or dip below 40 degrees. In the summer, the city’s famous fog rolls in mornings and evenings, creating a misty chill in the air. September and October are San Francisco’s warmest, sunniest months; it is not unusual to see rain from November to March. Snow is almost unheard of.

The best times of year to visit San Francisco are spring and fall. Spring sees the end of the rainy season, and the city’s pretty-in-pink cherry blossom trees dot the landscape. In Autumn Indian Summer comes to San Francisco, bringing warm, dry days with plenty of sunshine.
