As with most Shakespeare gardens, Golden Gate Park's own has a sundial, a bust of Shakespeare, and many benches. One bench in particular stands out from the rest. Made of stone, this bench honors Alice Eastwood, the Curator of Botany for the Academy of Sciences from 1894 until her retirement in 1949. The garden was originally her idea.
