Art Installation and Cocktails...:

On March 2, Frisson will welcome First Thursdays, an art installation and cocktail reception that hopes to emerge as a monthly must for locals and a thing-to-do for visitors. Located in the historic Jackson Square district, the pulse of San Francisco's art and antiques community, Frisson truly reflects its surroundings with its design (mid-century American Modern with the deco styling of 1920's Paris) and furthers it with the creation of First Thursdays.

The inaugural installation entitled CAKEWALK will feature the artwork of cake designer extraordinaire Shinmin Li. Owner of I Dream of Cake, Ms. Li transforms everyday objects, such as Gucci stilettos and Cinderella carriages, into edible works of art.

For the very "First Thursday", the centerpiece will suspend cakes from Frisson's dining-room orbital light fixture. Guests will be able to sip complimentary champagne, nibble on cake, and naturally - discuss the artwork.

Starting at 7pm, the reception will last for two hours, offering a sophisticated way to unwind from a long day spent working, sight-seeing, shopping, or maybe looking for rare antiques just around the corner.

Note: Remember, CAKEWALK will be the first of many First Thursdays to come, so perhaps keep the monthly event in mind if you happen to wonder what to do March 2, April 6, May 4, etc...
