Special Events: For each production, Cal Shakes offers a number of special events developed to enhance the theater-going experience, from backstage tours and actor chats to the popular Tasting Series and Grove Day.
Art in the Groves: Along with a great play, there's also "Art in the Groves." In 2007, Cal Shakes welcomes the fourth installment, which further explores the natural beauty in which the theater company performs. The works range in style and subject and have all been donated for display by local artists.
Dining Alfresco: Doors open two hours prior to showtime. Spread out a blanket (available to rent for $1) and have a picnic. Bring your own basket or choose from the Classic Catering menu available at Midsummer Night's Cafe, from sandwiches to Chardonnay.
Free Shuttle: To reach Bruns Amphitheater, a hike is required; however, a shuttle is available for anyone who would like a ride up the hill instead.

For those who take BART, simply wait at the Orinda BART station for the Cal Shakes Free Shuttle, which begins taking guests to the theater grounds 90 minutes before curtain call. Following the performance, the shuttle will promptly take BART passengers back to the station. Note: please arrive at the station 30 minutes before showtime to ensure seating.
