Southwest Airlines is offering a number of savings for fall and winter travel plans, with "super low fares" all over the country. For San Francisco, it's offering $49 intra-state fares. Travel from/to southern California for less than $100. Purchase by August 23, 2007.

Just in Time: On August 26, 2007, the low-rate carrier will begin service out of San Francisco International Airport.

Priceline has extended its summer sale through Labor Day. Booking fees have been waived. Search for San Francisco and the time you'd like to visit; then compare airfares. The booking site believes savings will swing in its favor. In addition, it's also offering up to 50% off select San Francisco hotels. Book an entire package and save.

For Californians wanting to visit San Francisco. In celebration of 1967's Summer of Love, the visitors bureau is offering a special promotion for CA residents. Through the end of the month, book a three-night stay at any one of 16 participating hotels and pay for only two. That's four days to explore the city!

The annual Castro Halloween party will not take place this year, city officials say (S.F. Shuts Down Castro Halloween Party", abc7news.com). Last year, a zero-tolerance policy was enforced but violence still broke out before the event was over. This year, traffic will be allowed, as the street party will not be taking place. A proposal is being made to move the party to AT&T Park.

Hotels.com is offering discounts on San Francisco hotel rooms for as low as $50/day.

Caltrans has decided to close the Bay Bridge during Labor Day Weekend again this year ("Caltrans to close Bay Bridge again over Labor Day", SFGate.com). In 2006, the bridge closed in the eastbound direction only, but this year, both sides will so that Caltrans can work on a viaduct replacement. For the three days, BART will remain open overnight, so as to accommodate traffic going to/from San Francisco and the East Bay.
