Planning Your SF Trip: Things to Remember

By Jennifer Alpeche, About.com

For international travelers...

If you're visiting San Francisco from another country, then things-to-remember definitely include 1) visa and 2) passport. Find out what is required for United States travel through the US embassy or consulate or when you go to apply for your visa. As for your passport, make sure to keep it secured and safe. As Frommer's says, make copies of the important pages of your passport and keep them in a safe place separate from your official passport. This will provide you with a safeguard, should you lost your passport during your trip (which we of course don't want to happen). If you do find yourself without your passport, then please visit the consulate of your native country as soon as possible, and they'll be able to help you.
