Guide Review - Tartine Bakery
It doesn’t really matter what time of day you show up at Tartine. The place will be packed with locals, but you're sure to find a delicious sweet or savory bite to fulfill any craving. It’s perfect for breakfast, lunch, teatime, snacktime.

This neighborhood bakery has a dedicated following of locals who line up for the signature goodies like bread pudding studded with seasonal fruits. Croissants are crunchy on the outside, warm and buttery within; orange-scented morning buns are another morning standout. Savory items include creamy quiches and hot pressed sandwiches oozing with decadent fillings.

Desserts, too are over-the-top: a rich, dense chocolate pudding napped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings; a tangy lemon cream tart, puffy éclairs, and delicate meringue cookies are some of the favorites.

Be sure to pair your snack with a cup of coffee; au laits and lattes are served in the French style in steaming bowls. At lunchtime, you can supplement your quiche or sandwich with a little side salad and glass of wine.
