Allison Serrell

Allison Serrell is a freelance magazine writer, book author, and editor. She was born and raised in Boston and spent 14 years in New York City before moving to San Francisco in 1996. Allison makes her home in a small Victorian cottage with her husband and young daughter.

Experience:

Allison Serrell has been a travel and lifestyle journalist for more than 20 years; she has been living in and reporting on San Francisco for more than a decade.
Allison is the author of three style books:

• Nest for Two: Creating a Harmonious Home (2004)
• At Home in the Hudson Valley (2005)
• Haven: Cozy Hideaways and Dream Retreats (2005)

Allison has worked for Access Travel Guides and Fodors' and was a staff editor at Hearst's Diversion, a monthly travel magazine for physicans. She has published travel articles in Health, Cooking Light, Country Home, San Francisco Magazine, and The San Francisco Chronicle.

Education:

Allison holds a Bachelor's degree in English from New York University and attended NYU in Paris at the Sorbonne.
