The country's most romantic city becomes a passionate playground full of activities for lovers when February 14th rolls around each year and this year is no exception. Here are my top picks for Valentine's Day 2013 in SF:
- The Valentines Day Pillow Fight: A San Francisco institution, this after-work stress relieving celebration take place at Justin Herman Plaza, just across the street from the Ferry Building, on Valentines Day itself. Arm yourself with a soft cushion and join the action or just watch the feathers fly.
- Valentines Day Cruises on the Bay: Located right next door to the Ferry Building, Hornblower Cruises offers three special dinner and brunch cruises for couples on Valentine's Day itself, champagne included. www.hornblower.com
Also check out my complete list of Bay Cruises, any of them perfect for Valentines Day romance.
- Joey Arias: Love Swings: Catch one of New York City's funniest musical drag shows at the historic Castro Theater on Valentines Day. www.castrotheatre.com
- Valentines Day with Lavay Smith and the Red Hot Skillet Lickers: Those staying in the Union Square area are in for a good time at Biscuits and Blues. Catch the lightening-hot Valentine's night featuring San Francisco's own queen of the big band blues and her jumping swing band. www.biscuitsandblues
Of course most of San Francisco's top restaurants will also be offering special Valentine's Day menus, reservations far ahead of time are always a good idea.
Many of the city's bars and clubs will also be throwing Valentine's Day themed events, so even just a night out on the town is extra festive
