San Francisco's hottest gastronomical feista kicks off on Monday, July 30th, when dozens of local and regional California chefs will converge to meet, greet and compete for the benefit of the food loving public.
The annual SF Chef's Food and Wine Festival, which runs through Sunday, August 5th is jam-packed with events and activities for gourmands, including classes with prominent area chefs, a cook-off challenge that pits culinary superstars against each other in the kitchen, and several wine tastings throughout the week.
The star attraction of the festival, however, is the Grand Tasting Tent at Union Square, which takes place on Friday night and all day on Saturday and Sunday. Here local and regional dishes share the spotlight with independent beers, Northern California wines and the city's top bartenders' cocktail creations.
Following each tent event an after party takes place at a different San Francisco culinary destination, and lasts late into the night.
